The Master of Oviedo
The Apostle Group of the Holy Chamber: St. Philip and St. James the Greater

12th century
Holy Chamber, Cathedral of St. Savior, Oviedo, Spain

The twelve Apostles are all represented on double columns that line the chamber, but only two of them are identified by attributes, Peter with his keys and Philip with his long cross.

On the three sides of the capital are small narrative reliefs: The Flight into Egypt, The Woman Taken in Adultery, and The Harrowing of Hell.
